Man Arrested After Missing Oakland County Girl, 13, Found Safe: Cops

Investigators acted on a tip that led them to a White Lake Township house, where they safely found the missing girl, police said.

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI — A 21-year-old White Lake Township man was arrested in connection with a 13-year-old Waterford Township girl who had been missing for three days, according to police.

Johanna "Jax" Woody was found safe Tuesday after she was reported missing Sunday morning, police said.

Police said Woody left her home Saturday night at roughly 7 p.m. after her father left for work, police said.

Douglas Corbeau, 21, was arrested in connection with the incident and was placed in the Oakland County Jail as prosecutors reviewed the case, police said.

Investigators acted on a tip that led them to a White Lake Township house, where they found Woody. Police found her at the house and she was taken to the Waterford Township Police Department and was reunited with her parents, police said.

Investigators believe Woody planned to leave her house after they interviewed family and friends. One person told investigators that Woody had met a 21-year-old man online and was "planning to run away with him."

Moreover, Woody did not have her phone but was believed to be in possession of one and was using it by connecting to WiFi to talk to people over Snapchat, police said.
