Crime Alert: Residential Burglaries In City Of Eden Prairie

In some cases, garage door openers in vehicles were used to access garage and enter the home. Suspects then took keys and stole vehicles.

Over the weekend, Police responded to three residential burglaries (on Hiawatha Ave., Switchgrass Ln. and Lilac Dr.) and four thefts from motor vehicles (on Lilac Dr., Thornhill Rd., Fallbrook Rd. and Morningside Cir.). Each of these incidents involved suspects entering unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways. In some cases, garage door openers in vehicles were used to access the garage and enter the home – suspects then took keys and stole vehicles. If you saw anything suspicious in the early morning hours on June 27 or 28, call 952-949-6200 to speak with an officer.

To avoid becoming a victim: lock your vehicle, lock the doors to your home and be sure your overhead garage door is closed – report any suspicious activity by calling 911 immediately.
