Man Brought Gun To Eden Prairie Center To Be Serviced: Cops

Police say a report of a man carrying a firearm triggered a mall lockdown Tuesday.

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — The Eden Prairie Center was put on lockdown just after 12 p.m. Tuesday after police received a report of a person armed with a weapon. Authorities told people at the mall to shelter-in-place.

During the lockdown, a mall employee told officers that a man carrying a gun case entered the Scheels store to have his firearm serviced. When he was told there are no gun services at that Scheels location, the man left the mall, according to police.

At about 1 p.m., the lockdown was lifted and the Eden Prairie Center was reopened. No injuries were reported in the incident.
