Eden Prairie Homicide Investigation: Man Taken Into Custody

On Thursday, police conducted a welfare check on an adult male who failed to report for work. They later discovered two deceased adults.

UPDATE, 1:45 p.m. — Eden Prairie police say they have identified a person of interest associated with the residence due to several prior 911 calls over the past 10 years. Police shared the suspect information with law enforcement agencies statewide. At 11:19 a.m. Thursday in Buffalo, Minnesota, the Wright County Sheriff's Office took Nathan Thomas Lehman, 38, into custody.

Lehman is being transported to the Eden Prairie Police Department for questioning. Police are not looking for any other suspects in this case, according to a news release.


Authorities in the southwest metro are investigating a potential homicide Thursday after discovering two dead bodies at a home. At 7:21 a.m. Thursday, May 25, Eden Prairie police were called to a residence in the 6000 block of Woodhill Trail to conduct a welfare check on an adult male who failed to report for work. Inside the home, officers discovered an adult male and female, both deceased. There were no other occupants in the home when police arrived, according to authorities.

The Eden Prairie Police Department, with help from the Hennepin County Crime Lab, is investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death and identity of the victims.

At this time, police do not believe this was a random incident, according to a news release. Because this is an active investigation, no further details are available at this time.
