Eden Prairie Woman Dies After Van Catches Fire On Highway 5
Susan Clark was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance but died from her injuries.
EDEN PRARIE, MN — Highway 5 eastbound at Venture Lane was closed Wednesday after a van caught fire, causing fatal injuries to the 66-year-old driver. At 12:40 p.m. authorities located Susan Jean Clark outside a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country van on the highway near Mitchell Road.
"Both the vehicle and the driver were on fire," reports the Minnesota State Patrol. Clark was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance but died from her injuries.
The cause of the van fire is not yet known. Eden Prairie fire is investigating.
