MINNEAPOLIS — Just 46 percent of students enrolled in Minneapolis Public Schools "regularly" attended class during the 2021-2022 academic year, according to data released by the Minnesota Department of Education Thursday.

The state defines regular attendance as attending school more than 90 percent of the time that the student is enrolled.

Statewide, 69.8 percent of students attended school at least 90 percent of the time during the 2021-2022 school year. Before the pandemic, the statewide regular attendance rate was about 85 percent, officials said, indicating a 15 percent drop.
