Hot And Humid Weekend Ahead: MN Weather

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesotans should expect hot and humid weather for the weekend. Temperatures in the Twin Cities will be in the mid to upper 80s on Friday and in the lower 90s on Saturday and Sunday.

Monday's high is 87 degrees.

The hot weather will create conditions for possible severe storms.

"Please stay weather aware this weekend as potential for several rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday through Monday," the National Weather Service urged.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 87. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Mostly clear, with a low around 71. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. South wind around 10 mph.

Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the morning.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the evening.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
