Checking Spines | Eden Prairie Chiropractor

Throughout the day in the office I’m busy checking spines. I help my members maintain proper spinal alignment so they can get the most out of their bodies, and as a result, the most out of their life!

What do you check for?

I look for a condition called vertebral subluxation which occurs within the spinal column as a result of everyday stressors. You have 24 vertebrae stacked up in your spine. If an individual vertebra loses its proper relationship with its neighboring vertebrae, above or below, that is called a vertebral subluxation (spinal misalignment).

How do you find subluxation?

I use the muscles attached to your spine to locate subluxation. The job of the muscles in your body is to move bone. If a muscle is working (active, contracted, tense) trying to move a vertebrae, this tells me the body is not happy with the location of that vertebrae. My job as the chiropractor is to analyze the displacement of that vertebra and deliver an adjustment to help the muscle correct its positioning within the spinal column.

Why do you do that?

The spinal column protects our central nervous system. These subluxations place unwanted stress on our sensitive nerve tissue. Nerve tissue under stress does not properly conduct mental impulses from the brain to the body and vice-verse. By maintaining proper spinal structure and correcting subluxations when they occur, you are protecting your nervous system and as a result promoting proper body function.

Call today and get your spine checked. It’s easy, painless, and can change your life!
