On Saturday, August 5, Brookwood Community Church will host the third annual Red Zone Rush 5K and Kids Fun Run at Huber Park in Shakopee. The football-themed event will include a 5K and kids 1K fun run along a local course that follows the Minnesota Valley State Trail. Proceeds from the event benefit Good to Go Kids, a Shakopee-based organization that provides food for kids in need to take home on the weekends. Kids fun run starts at 9:30am and the chip-timed 5K starts at 10am. The race will be followed by live music, food and an awards ceremony.
