4th Federal Medical Team Set To Arrive At Abbott Northwestern

A fourth-round of medical staff from the United States Department of Defense are coming to Minnesota amid the latest COVID-19 wave.

The team — comprised of 23 doctors, nurses, and other hospital personnel — will arrive on Saturday. The team will assist the hospital for 30 days.

MINNEAPOLIS — A fourth emergency medical team from the United States Department of Defense will arrive in Minnesota this weekend. This time, the team will assist staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

The team — comprised of 23 doctors, nurses, and other hospital personnel — will arrive on Saturday. The team will assist the hospital for 30 days.

The team comes at the request of Gov. Tim Walz and the hospital itself.

"Abbott Northwestern Hospital is grateful for this support to care for additional patients and better meet the needs of our community," said Carol Koeppel-Olsen, Vice President of Patient Care Services at Abbot Northwestern Hospital, in a statement.

"We look forward to having them join our dedicated teams and we appreciate their service."
