Rookie MN Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Out For Season After Surgery

Quarterback Sam Darnold will start the season for the Minnesota Vikings.

EAGAN, MN — Minnesota Vikings' first-round rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy is out for the 2024 season after he underwent a full meniscus repair Wednesday morning, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell announced.

The surgery was carried out by Dr. Chris Larson at Twin Cities Orthopedic.

Quarterback Sam Darnold will start the season.
