MINNEAPOLIS — After 14 years, KARE 11 sports anchor Dave Schwartz is leaving the station. Schwartz Wednesday announced over social media that he's moving on to work for the Minnesota Wild "in a role that combines three of my passions, communication, storytelling, and hockey."

Schwartz joined KARE 11 — the NBC affiliate in the Twin Cities — in 2007 as the weekend sports anchor. He will leave on Feb. 20, after the Winter Olympics are complete.

"To all my friends at KARE 11 who have become like family to me and to other journalists I've gotten to know around the country, thank you," Schwartz wrote. "We've shared so much together. You've helped me grow as a journalist and as a person."
