Frozen Body Found In Minneapolis Lake Channel

MINNEAPOLIS — The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a frozen body was discovered in Minneapolis.

At about 3:40 p.m. on Friday, detectives and water patrol crews from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deceased person frozen in the ice between the channel of Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska.

"It’s unknown at this time how long the person was in the ice," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "The cause of death, gender, and identity of the person will provided the Hennepin County Medical Examiner."
