Woman Killed In Metro Transit Bus-Pickup Crash Identified

MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities identified the woman who died after a pickup truck crashed into a Metro Transit bus in Minneapolis on Sunday night.

Saleema Lee Ames, 41, of Minneapolis died at the scene. Officials did not say if she was in the truck or bus at the time of the crash.

A D-Line bus going northbound on Chicago Avenue at about 11 p.m. — crossing East 25th Street — when a pickup crashed into it, a Metro Transit spokesman told the Star Tribune.

Six passengers on the bus suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center, KARE 11 reported.
