Police In MA, NH, And ME Search For Accused Armed Kidnapping Suspect

Three states are searching for Peter Curtis, who police say is considered to be armed and dangerous, and shouldn't be approached.

BRENTWOOD, NH — State police from New Hampshire and Massachusetts are searching for a man who is considered to be armed and dangerous after police say he kidnapped a woman in Brentwood.

Peter Curtis, 34, is accused of abducting a woman at random last week. Police say he had a gun on him, and the attack happened in a public place.

The woman was able to escape physically unharmed and was able to provide police with his description.

"What's important to do is to have an awareness of your surroundings," said Brentwood Police Chief John Ventura. "I can tell you that this young lady did have some awareness of her surroundings, and that may have contributed to the reason that she is safe today."

Police were able to use surveillance images and said Curtis was believed to have been driving at the time of the attack, the truck in question was later found and is in the custody of police in Maine

According to WMUR, Curtis has a history of arrests related to assaults, burglaries, drugs, larcenies, and trafficking prison contraband.

Police say Curtis was recently involved in multiple high-speed police chases in Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire, citing his potential ties to the areas.

Curtis is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should not approach him and instead should call Brentwood police at 603-642-8817 or the U.S. marshals' district office at 603-225-1632.
