5 Candidates Running For 3 Bernards Township School Board Seats

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Five candidates filed to run for three Board of Education seats up for election this year in Bernards Township.

July 29 marked the deadline for candidates to file petitions to get on the ballot for their local board of education in New Jersey.

Here's who's running for office, according to the Somerset County Clerk's Office. Asterisk indicates incumbent.

• Robin McKeon - Experienced Collaborative Leadership*
• Micheal G. Talbot - Stability, Accountability, Collaboration
• Brett Omelianuk - Stability, Accountability, Collaboration
• Yijia Liu - Excellence For All
• Pankhoori Agarwal Gupta - Education + Wellness

MeKeon is the only incumbent seeking re-election. Kirsten Light and Timothy Salmon also have terms expiring this year, yet they did not file a petition for re-election.

General election day is Nov. 5 for New Jersey.
