Basking Ridge Local Opens Gourmet Salad And Sub Shop In Somerset County

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Whether you are looking for a healthy salad or a juicy cheesesteak, Linda Taylor is serving up the best of both worlds at her new eatery in Somerset County called BOMA 520.

"Our concept is we offer a little bit for everyone," said Taylor of Basking Ridge.

Taylor and her partner Brian Howard recently opened BOMA 520 last month at 15 West Main St. in Somerville.

While this is Taylor's first brick-and-mortar store she has opened, she has years of experience.

"I've been in the hospitality industry pretty much all of my life and this is the only part I haven't done yet," said Taylor.

Taylor previously worked in quick-serve restaurants, family restaurants, fine dining, and catering.

This is naturally her next venture.

Taylor's idea for the menu was sparked when she saw her own daughter struggling for options.

"My daughter would always say it was hard to order something to eat because she will want a salad or something healthy and her boyfriend wants a juicy cheeseburger," said Taylor. "When they would go out to pick up the food I would watch them go to two different places to get dinner."

Melding these two ideas, Taylor developed a menu with a variety of choices for anyone. She will even customize orders at a customer's request.

The menu consists of salads, subs, bowls, soups, chilis, cookies, sundaes and more. All orders can be done in-person, online or call ahead for in-store pick-up.

Most of all Taylor just wants people to stop in and say hi.

"I want to show that hospitality is not lost," said Taylor. "I want to make customers feel like family when they come in."
