BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A special Toys for Tots event will be held at Lord Stirling Park where those who donate can get a free pony ride.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Stables at Lord Stirling Park at 256 S. Maple Avenue, Basking Ridge.

Donate a new, unwrapped toy and donators with children 10 years old or younger and weigh 95 pounds or less can get a free pony ride, weather permitting.

The toy collection drive is sponsored by Somerset County Sheriff Darrin J. Russo and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

"Every child deserves a Christmas. The holidays can be one of the most trying times for families who feel they cannot give their children what they need," said Russo. "During these difficult economic times, let’s help put a smile on the face of every child by donating an unwrapped, new toy."
