How Much Snow Did Basking Ridge Get?

The most snow New Jersey got was 2.5 inches in areas, according to the National Weather Service. More snow is expected Saturday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The first real snowfall of the season was a bit of a dud for New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service.

The Bernards Township area measured at 1.5 inches. While parts of Franklin Township got 2.2 inches. The most New Jersey received was 2.5 inches in Hopewell Township and Gloucester City.

The snow wasn't enough to close or delay school openings on Friday, but there is still more on the way.

Here is what to expect this the weekend:

  • Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Saturday: A chance of snow, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 27. North wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 13. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 25. Blustery, with a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 11.
