BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge was soaked on Thursday night as rain showers passed through Somerset County.

Here were the rain totals for different parts of Somerset County, according to National Weather Service spotters:

  • Bridgewater - 2.92 inches
  • Bedminster Township - 2.46 inches
  • Somerville - 2.38 inches
  • Skillman - 2.30 inches
  • Bernardsville - 2.12 inches
  • Far Hills 2.11 inches
  • Belle Mead - 1.96 inches
  • Green Brook - 1.93 inches
  • Watchung - 1.60 inches
  • Branchburg - 1.52 inches
  • Blackwells Mills - 1.39 inches
  • Bound Brook - 1.29 inches
  • Basking Ridge - 1.04 inches

Overall, Whippany in Morris County had the most amount of rain in the state with 3.87 inches.

As of 7:30 a.m. several rivers remain flooded. The Millstone River at Griggstown is in the moderate flood stage at 13.91 feet - just under major flooding at 15 feet.

The North Branch River at South Branch is in the moderate flood stage at 10.44 feet just below major flooding at 11 feet.

The Raritan River at Manville is in the moderate flood stage at 15 feet below major flooding at 17 feet.

The Raritan River at Bound Brook is in the moderate flood stage at 28.85 feet below major flooding at 30 feet.

The Lamington (Black) River at Burnt Mills is in the action stage at 10.73 feet below minor flooding at 11 feet.

The Passaic River at Millington is in the action stage at 7.21 feet below minor flooding at 8 feet.
