See Snowfall Totals In Basking Ridge, Somerset County

On Tuesday morning, Bernards Township schools had a two-hour delayed opening due to the snow.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — While it wasn't the amount forecasted, Basking Ridge did get enough snow to cause a delayed opening for Township offices and schools on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service(NWS) projected 4 to 6 inches of snow to fall in Basking Ridge from Monday night through Tuesday.

As of Tuesday at 10 a.m., NWS reported Millstone tallied the highest snowfall in Somerset County with 3 inches. Bernards had 1.4 inches.

  • Bridgewater - 2.5 inches
  • Franklin Township - 1.7 inches
  • Middlebush - 1.7 inches
  • Branchburg Township - 1.5 inches

  • Watchung - 1.5 inches
  • Bernards Township - 1.4 inches
  • Manville - 1.3 inches
  • Peapack-Gladstone - 1.2 inches

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 11. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 24. Wind chill values as low as zero. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 17. West wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: A slight chance of snow after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow, mainly after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Friday Night: A chance of snow before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
