Senior Night Celebration For Ridge Swim

The Girls secured their seventh win of the season on Wednesday against Bernardsville at the Senior Night meet at Somerset Hills YMCA.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Ridge Girls Swim team does it again.

The Girls secured their seventh win of the season on Wednesday against Bernardsville at the Senior Night meet at Somerset Hills YMCA. Ridge took the win 122-48 to take their regular season record to 7-0 with one more regular season meet remaining.

Ridge Boys also won their meet against Bernardsville by a score of 113-57, to end their regular season with a 4-3 record.

Ridge Girls showed the strength and depth of their squad by the number of swimmers securing first place finishes.

Victories went to Eszter Kiss in the 200 free and 100 breast, Giulia Beverini in the 50 and 100 free, Emily Thompson in the 200 IM, Natalie Hillebrecht in the 100 fly, Kinga Kiss in the 500 free and Maggie Luo in the 100 back.

The winning relay quartets were Beverini, Eszter Kiss, Thompson and Victoria Doucette in the 200 medley and 200 free relays along with Charli Geary, Beth Higgins, Caitlyn Ferraioli and Arissa Xiang in the 400 free relay.

The boys meet got off to an exciting start for Ridge with Mitch Ferraioli, Youssef Elnawawi and PJ Trivigno taking first, second and third spots in the 200 free. Gabe Beverini and Dean Capizzi followed with a one-two finish in the 200 IM.

Further victories went to Elnawawi in the 100 fly, Orion Wang in the 500 free, Jack Thompson in the 100 back and Kevin Cao in the 100 breast. Wang, Cao, Ferraioli and Anurag Bhat won the 200 medley relay, whilst Eric Shen, Evan Kelly, Adam Ibrahim and Thompson won the 400 free relay.

At the midway point in the meet, as is customary, parents and friends of all graduating Seniors, from Bernards and Ridge, came on deck to be congratulated by Head Coach Melanie Dupuis and Assistant Coach Andy West from Ridge and Head Coach Doug Voight from Bernards, before taking photos under the balloon arches.

"What an amazing Senior class we have, it’s going to be difficult to see you all go," said Dupuis.

Emma Wallach and PJ Trivigno were named MVP’s of the meet. Emma set a personal best in the 100 free and PJ dropped 15 seconds in each of his events to take third place in the 200 free and the 500 free.

Ridge Girls take on Mount St Mary in their final meet of the season on Monday, January 29 and both Girls and Boys teams will be in action on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Somerset County Championships at Montgomery.
