Special School Police Officers Set To Be Appointed In Bernards Township

The Township Committee is set to meet on Tuesday to vote on a number of items including appointing five officers to Bernerds schools.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The upcoming Township Committee meeting on Tuesday night will include a number of appointments and the review of the deer management report from the past year.

The Township Committee is set to meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building, 1 Collyer Lane.

On the agenda is the committee is set to vote on appointing five Special Police Officer III (SLEOIII) specifically and solely for the purpose of school security.

The officers will work on a regular, part-time basis, effective Aug. 1, at an hourly rate of $41.20, with hours to be determined in conjunction with the Board of Education.

  • Brian Stanton, SLEO III
  • Alexander Sodbinow, SLEO III
  • Todd Widitz, SLEO III

The committee is also looking to review the Final Report on Results of the 2023-2024

Bernards Township Community Based Deer Management Program to be submitted to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.

Additionally, the Committee will appoint Gauri Badrish and Claire King to the Bernards Volunteer First Aid Squad of the Basking Ridge Fire Company #1.
