Strong Start To Season For Ridge Swim Team

Both the boys' and girls' Ridge Swim teams kicked off their 2023/24 season with a win against Hunterdon Central.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge swim team posted a strong start to their 2023/24 season with a win for both the boys’ and girls’ teams against Hunterdon Central last week at RVCC. The girls’ team won 116-54 and the boys’ team won 133-37.

Ridge girls won all three relay events.

In the medley relay, Giulia Beverini, Niamh O’Sullivan, Eszter Kiss and Victoria Doucette were victorious. In the 200 free relay, freshmen Natalie Hillebrecht and Beth Higgins teamed up with Maggie Luo and Eszter Kiss for the win. In the 400 free relay, Natalie Hillebrecht, freshman Caitlyn Ferraioli, Sammie Oei and Giulia Beverini came out on top.

Individual victories were secured by Hillebrecht in the 200 and 500 free events, Giulia Beverini in the 50 free and 100 back, Oei in the 100 free and Kinga Kiss in the 100 breast.

Ridge boys turned in an equally dominant performance, winning all three relay events. The medley relay was won by the quartet of Gabe Beverini, Kevin Cao, Mitch Ferraioli and Nathan Luo. In the 200 free relay Beverini, Dean Capizzi, Cao and Ferraioli secured the win. The 400 free relay was won by Luo, Youssef Elnawawi, Adam Ibrahim and Darshan Hariharan.

Individual victories were secured by Cao in the 200 free, Mitch Ferraioli in the 200IM and 100 free, Capizzi in the 50 free, Gabe Beverini in the 100 fly, Ian D’Silva in the 100 back and Andrew Chai in the 100 breast.
