Tree Down On Wires Closes Road, Causes Outage In Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A passing severe thunderstorm toppled a tree in Basking Ridge causing a road closure and power outage. (See video of the heavy rain below)

Sunnybrook Road is closed due to a tree down on power wires, said the township in an alert around 8:15 a.m.

JCP&L is reporting 26 Basking Ridge customers are without power. Additionally, around 200 other customers in Bernardsville and Hillsborough are also without power.

Power is estimated to be restored by 11:30 a.m. on July 14, according to JCP&L.
