BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Coming back from Spring Break did nothing to slow down the William Annin Middle School(WAMS) Softball Team.

On Wednesday, April 24 against a Montgomery Team that WAMS has handled well in the past, the dominance continued with a 27 - 2 win. 7th grader Beatrice Reed earned her first win in her first-ever start behind 18 hits, 7 walks, and 7 stolen bases.

Ava Chianelli, Hailey Cuyun, and Kelly Ross had multiple hits with all three hitting a double and a triple. Cuyun led the team with 7 RBIs, while Mia Hice, Kelly Ross and Avery Sandler had 3 RBIs apiece, Chianelli and Ella Sparrey both recorded 2 each as well. This was a team win for sure with contributions up and down the complete roster.

Then on Friday, April 26, WAMS fought back after Readington took the lead in the top of the 7th for a walk-off win by a score of 10 to 9 following hits by Callie Witte and Ava Chianelli. This avenged one of the 2023 losses to make it all the more sweet.

Hailey Adamek pitched a complete game win against a team full of heavy hitters and remained cool as can be in the face of Readington's constant pressure at the plate.

It was a back-and-forth battle but triples by Mia Hice and Kelly Ross and a home run by HaileyCuyun kept the Vikings in the game backed up by multiple hits from Alexandra Lenz and Witte.

The season continues on Tuesday, April 30 in an away game against Warren, the team that took home the CJJSAA league championship last season beating WAMS in the final game.
