Country Dogs 'Willie Nelson', 'Johnny Cash' Up For Adoption In Basking Ridge

Bernards Township Animal Control Officer Michelle Santoro is hoping to find a home for these two pups.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Two sweet country dogs "Willie Nelson" and "Johnny Cash" are up for adoption in Basking Ridge.

Willie Nelson, a 4-year-old male Mastiff Mix, and Johnny Cash, a 2-year-old male Bully Mix, were found together. Both were easy to handle at the time of pick up, and showed a friendly disposition. They are currently housed at a local private kennel.

"After all my years of working in the animal field, finding homes for these two will be difficult. Shelters are full, rescues are at capacity and most of America is feeling a financial pinch the past few years leading to a decline in adoptions and an increase in strays," said Bernards Township Animal Control Officer Michelle Santoro. "I am reaching out in hopes that someone in our community with bully breed experience is looking to adopt a new family member or may have a relationship with a rescue that would accept them into a foster/adoption program."
