Winning Streak Continues For Ridge Swim

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — On Dec. 14, Ridge won their second meet of the season against Watchung. The girls’ meet ended 95-75 and the boys’ 126-42. Meet MVP’s were Charli Geary and Nour Mekawe.

Ridge girls started with a win in the medley relay for Giulia Beverini, Kinga Kiss, Emily Thompson and Amelia Ellis followed by individual wins for Beverini in the 200 free and 100 breast, and Thompson in the 200 IM and 500 free.

The boys were dominant against Watchung. The foursome of Gabe Beverini, Dean Capizzi, Mitch Ferraioli and Anurag Bhat won the medley relay, Nathan Luo, Bhat, Ian D’Silva and Jack Thompson won the 200 free relay and Thompson, Youssef Elnawawi, Eric Shen and Capizzi won the 400 free relay.

Thompson and Bhat both won two individual events, with Thompson securing victory in the 200 free and 100 fly and Bhat winning the 50 and 100 free events. Beverini won the 200 IM, Elnawawi won the 500 free and Adam Ibrahim won the 100 breast.

Ridge clocked up their third win of the season on December 19, with a convincing win against Montgomery. The girls’ team won the match-up 116-54 and the boys’ team won 105-65. Jack Thompson and Caitlyn Ferraioli were named meet MVP’s.

In the girls’ meet, Giulia Beverini, Eszter Kiss, Amelia Ellis and Sammie Oei won the medley relay. The 200 free relay was won by Beverini, Eszter KIss, Natalie Hillebrecht and Kinga Kiss and the 400 free relay by Hillebrecht, Oei, Caitlyn Ferraioli and Kinga Kiss.

Ridge won 7 out of 8 individual events. Kinga Kiss won the 200 and 500 free, Eszter Kiss won the 50 free and 100 free, Natalie Hillebrecht won the 100 fly, Beverini won the 200 IM and Niamh O’Sullivan won the 100 breast.

In the boys’ meet, the quartet of Gabe Beverini, Kevin Cao, Mitch Ferraioli and Jack Thompson won the 200 medley relay and Anson Chen, Ferraioli, Orion Wang and Thompson won the 400 free relay.

In the individual events, Ridge boys showed their depth with wins by Anson Chen in the 200 IM, Beverini in the 50 free and 100 breast, Ferraioli in the 100 fly, Kevin Cao in the 100 free, Jack Thompson won the 100 back.

Ridge will face rivals Bridgewater at home on Jan. 2.
