Somerset County Park Commission Lord Stirling Stable has announced the dates for the Winter Horse Care Workshops 102 designed for individuals who are seeking to gain knowledge and confidence around horses through a combination of non-riding activities and hands-on experience.

Horse Care Workshops 102 and 104 will be held at Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge, New Jersey beginning Saturday, February 8, 2020 (providing weather does not delay currently running programs). Workshop 102 classes will meet for 5 consecutive Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and Workshop 104 classes will meet from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Students in Workshop 102 will build upon their experiences in Workshop 101, which is a pre-requisite for this class. Advanced topics including nutrition, clipping, bandaging, and basic conformation will be explored, and the important roles the farrier and veterinarian play in a horse's life will be discussed. There is no riding involved in the program.
