NEW JERSEY — Despite a recent uptick in coronavirus cases across the United States, millions of Americans are likely to move ahead with Labor Day celebrations this year, marking the holiday with outdoor barbecues, town festivals and family camping trips.

While celebrating safely is paramount, Mother Nature also holds the power to make or break a perfect outdoor holiday celebration.

As you head home from work Friday evening, expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 74. According to the National Weather Service, the rest of the weekend will look similar:

  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79 and temperatures cooling down to 64 in the evening.
  • Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high of 80 and a low around 66. A slight chance of showers. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  • Monday: For Labor Day, skies will be mostly sunny with a high near 84 and temperatures expected to drop down to 62 in the evening.
