Roads Along Bay Impassable Due To Flooding In Berkeley

Berkeley police ask that you avoid the roads until flooding has subsided.

BERKELEY, NJ — Roads along the Barnegat Bay in Berkeley Township are flooded Friday, making some impassible, Berkeley police said.

Bayview Avenue in Bayville and Bayview Avenue to to Barnegat Avenue in South Seaside Park "are experiencing higher than usual flooding making many of the roads not passable at this time," police said in a Nixle alert.

Drivers are asked to avoid these roads until flooding has subsided.

Additionally, several roadways in Ocean Gate are flooded, including E. Bayview between Monmouth and Narragansett and W. Chelsea between the town border and Ocean Gate Avenue, Ocean Gate police said. These roads are closed.

Use caution on Ocean Gate Avenue as that road is flooded too, police said.

Ocean Gate residents in low-lying areas can move vehicles to the First Aid Park located at Asbury and E. Cape May Avenue.
