40 Bands Will Perform On 10 Porches In Cranford This October

CRANFORD, NJ — The sixth annual Porchfest is approaching, and residents can look forward to the sounds live music floating throughout the Cranford neighborhood this October.

Porchfest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 1:30 to 5:15 p.m. with the finale performance at Eastman Plaza at 5:45 p.m. This year, 40 bands will perform on 10 porches throughout Cranford.

The family-friendly neighborhood music festival that came to Cranford six years ago as a way for the community to connect over music. Each year it has been sponsored by the Cranford Community Connection.

The event also gets a bit bigger as the outreach grows, and bands often come back year after year bringing their fans with them.

The porches are spread throughout the four corners of town, so that all Cranford residents have a chance to catch live music in their neighborhood.

Cranford Police Department will use its discretion to close down all streets with hosting Porchfest porches, according to the website.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food or pick up from local restaurants.
