Alvarez-Gomez places 5th in Group 3 State Championship 400 IH

Group 3 State Championship highlights: Girls 4x400 relay place 13th, Usinowicz 16th in Pole Vault, Fossella 17th in the Shot Put

Isabella "Isa" Alvarez-Gomez, a freshman, placed 5th in the GROUP 3 CHAMPIONSHIP Meet in the Girls 400 Intermediate Hurdles. She has qualified for the Meet of Champions next week. Only the BEST track athletes in New Jersey qualify to compete in the MOC. Cranford Athletics best kept secret....
Day 2: The Girls 4x400 set a season record by 3 seconds and placed 13th in the State.
The members of the relay team are: Isa Alvarez-Gomez, Elle Semple, Selena Rivera (all FRESHMAN), and Caitlyn Toy (SOPH).
Owen Usinowicz (JUNIOR) placed 16th in the Group 3 State Championship Pole Vault while PR’ing by a foot, 11’ 06”.
Ben Fossella (SOPH) placed 17th in the Group 3 Shot Put throwing 44’ 03.75”.
Rose Deeb (JUNIOR) competed in the Group 3 Pole Vault needing to PR to clear opening height.
The Meet of Champions is scheduled for June 18th at Franklin High School in Somerset, N.J.
WHEELCHAIR events start at 11:30 AM, FIELD events start at 12:00 PM, and TRACK events start at 1:00 PM.
