EDISON, NJ – Edison will host a National Night Out event at the beginning of August for families to meet local first responders.

The event will take place on Aug. 3 in Papaianni Park, adjacennt to the Edison Municipal Complex.

The Night Out will include demonstrations by police, fire and medical services, entertainment and information booths sponsored by local departments.

There will also be free hotdogs, sandwiches, pizza, popcorn, bottled water and root beer.

“Our National Night Out event is a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families to have fun, to meet some of our police officers, firefighters and other municipal employees, and to learn more about the variety of services that Edison Township has to offer,” Mayor Thomas Lankey said in a prepared statement.

At dusk, "The Sponge Bob Movie-Sponge on the Run" will be shown on a large outdoor screen on the baseball field. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and low chairs.
