Snowfall Totals For Fair Lawn. Is More On The Way?

A winter storm brought up to 9 inches of snow in parts of Bergen County on Sunday. Here's how much fell, and what to expect next.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A winter storm brought up to 9 inches of snow in parts of Bergen County on Sunday, and the National Weather Service predicts more to come on Tuesday.

Over five inches of snow were reported in Fair Lawn, according to NWS totals. (See totals from across the county below.)

The latest snowfall totals from the NWS's New York, New York office show 9.1 inches in Westwood, marking the county's highest total from the Sunday storm. Two other towns, Norwood and Closter, received over 8 inches.

The National Weather Service issued warnings for New Jersey drivers on Monday morning as wet roads were expected to freeze overnight due to below freezing conditions. Read more: NJ Weather: Snow, Black Ice In NJ As More Winter Weather Possible

Municipalities sought to get ahead of the storm Sunday, with Teaneck declaring an "official snow plowing emergency."

  • Washington Township 6.7 in.
  • Glen Rock 6.5 in.
  • Wood-Ridge 6.4 in.
  • Lyndhurst 5.8 in.
  • Ho-Ho-Kus 5.6 in.
  • Fair Lawn 5.3 in.
  • Oakland 5 in.
  • New Milford 5 in.
  • Franklin Lakes 4.8 in.
  • Ramsey 3.4 in.

The NWS said the forecasted storm Tuesday is likely to be "quick moving" and bring a "light accumulating snowfall" to the county.

Winter weather advisories could be issued in northeast New Jersey on Monday, officials said, with snow possibly starting late Monday night.

The storm is most likely to start at 6 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. Tuesday, tapering off during the evening hours.

Travel could be hazardous as snow starts accumulating, with morning and evening commutes affected Tuesday.
