3 New Restaurants In The Gloucester Township Area

A new coffeehouse, a popular tavern's expansion and an Indian restaurant are among the new options in the local dining scene.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township area has a few new places to grab a bite or a drink.

Ren's Coffeehouse & Books

26 N Black Horse Pike, Blackwood

The new shop features locally sourced coffee, pastries and an assortment of new and used books.

"We strive to create an atmosphere that feels safe and comfortable," Ren's says on its website, "a place to read a book with your book club, play a board game, bring your kids to reading time, grab a coffee and pastry with a friend, express your creativity at our open mic, or just have a chill place to study."

The Golden Nugget II

26 Stone St., Laurel Springs

The Golden Nugget Tavern, a longtime restaurant and country-music bar in Berlin, now has a second location. "Nugget 2" opened Tuesday with a celebration, bringing new life to the site where Villari's By The Pike operated for 26 years.

Jalsa Indian Kitchen

711 Evesham Rd., Ste. 12, Somerdale

The new restaurant promises "a culinary tour of India," ranging from the spicy flavors of Northern India to the coastal delicacies of the South.

"Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or subtle flavors, our menu has something for everyone," the restaurant's website says.

Jalsa Indian Kitchen will hold a soft opening on Thursday.
