GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township residents who use natural gas to heat their homes will likely pay more this winter for that bill, a recent vote by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities suggested.

That recent vote means that New Jersey Natural Gas customers' monthly natural gas bills will increase approximately 15 percent, Public Service Electric & Gas customers' monthly bills will go up roughly 24 percent and South Jersey Gas customers’ bills will increase approximately 18.6 percent, according to NJ Spotlight News.

The board attributed the increases to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent cutoff of most gas supplies to western Europe.
