$1,500 Almost Stolen From Lacey Walmart, Police Seek Suspect: Blotter

The woman was stopped as she exited the store and the merchandise was returned, but she left before being identified, police said.

LACEY, NJ — An unknown woman tried to steal $1,500 worth of merchandise from Walmart, according to this week's Lacey Police Blotter for Oct. 27 through Nov. 3.

DWI - On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 7:19 p.m., officers responded to the Wawa parking lot, Lacey Road, for a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, a 47-year-old Lanoka Harbor man. Investigation at the scene revealed that Brian was driving while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed. The man was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving, and released in accordance with John’s Law.

DWI – On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:21 a.m., Officer Tamburro conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for speeding. Officer Keefe responded to assist. Officers met with the driver, a 52-year-old Forked River man. Investigation at the scene revealed that he was driving while intoxicated. The man was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding, and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Shoplifting – On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:33 p.m., Officer Holt responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting that took place the previous day. Officer Holt was advised that on Thursday, October 27, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an unidentified female attempted to leave the store without paying for nearly $1,500.00 of merchandise. The female was stopped by an employee as she was exiting the store, and the merchandise was recovered. The female then left the area in a Chevrolet sedan, white in color. The suspect has yet to be identified.

Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:09 a.m., officers responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a male and female attempt to leave the store without paying for $99.31 worth of merchandise. Officers met with the suspects, a 52-year-old man and 54-year-old woman, both of Bayville, and placed them under arrest. Both were transported to police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting. The woman was released on a summons pending a future court appearance. The man was charged on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, without incident.

Shoplifting – On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 11:22 a.m., Officers Hutman and Abrecht responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female attempt to leave the store without paying for $152.91 worth of merchandise. Officers met with the suspect, a 59-year-old Forked River woman, and placed her under arrest. She was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
