Car Crashes Into Southern Ocean Co. Deli

A car went through LunchBox on 9 in Waretown's front door Wednesday morning, according to firefighters.

WARETOWN, NJ — A car crashed through the front door of an Ocean County deli on Wednesday morning.

The vehicle struck a business on the 500 block of Route 9, damaging and shifting a load bearing wall, according to the Waretown Fire Department.

Waretown Fire Department did not identify the business, however, the business itself, LunchBox on 9 shared a photo of the crash on Facebook, saying "we have had a very scary situation."

Waretown firefighters and members of the Ocean County Regional Urban Strike Team from Station 20 temporarily shored the building so the vehicle could be safely removed, and until proper repairs could be made.

No one inside LunchBox was hurt, according to the deli, but the status of the car's driver was unknown.

Despite the crash, LunchBox shared that the deli would be open on Thursday.
