Car Overturned, Driver Trapped In Lacey Crash: Police

A driver turning left from Lacey Road struck another car heading the opposite direction, injuring both drivers, Lacey police said.

LACEY, NJ — A car collision on Thursday caused one car to overturn and a driver to be trapped, Lacey police said.

Police responded to the crash at Lacey Road and Newark Avenue on Oct. 27 at about 3 p.m., police said.

Primary investigation revealed that Sarah Brennan, 20, of Ocean Township, was heading east on Lacey Road in her 2007 Toyota Yaris, police said.

Eric Seagle Jr., 20, of Toms River, was trying to make a left turn from the westbound lane of Lacey Road onto Newark Avenue when his 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into Brennan's car, police said.

Seagle was trapped in his car as a result of the collision, police said.

The Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated Eric from his vehicle, police said. Both cars sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene, according to police.

Both drivers were treated by Lacey Township EMS for "minor injuries" and were taken to the hospital for further treatment, according to police.
