LACEY, NJ — Every November, Lacey police officers join many others across the country to participate in "No-Shave November," breaking protocol to raise money.

Since 2016, the department said they have raised more than $35,000 towards fighting cancer.

"These funds were disseminated through various cancer fighting organizations as directed by the No-Shave November campaign as well as our Keep it Local campaign," Lacey police said.

Starting Oct. 8, they're kicking off No-Shave November early, this time in support of breast cancer awareness.

"During the month of October you may find our clerical and communications staff in their Breast Cancer Awareness themed polo shirts," Lacey police said Friday. "Additionally, our No-Shave participating members will begin to 'Let it Grow' tomorrow in support of our continued quest for cancer awareness (Breast Cancer Awareness and No-Shave November)."

Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said that more information would be coming about Lacey police's No-Shave November and Keeping it Local Campaign.
