Mom Accused Of Causing Lacey Son's Death To Remain Detained: Officials

LACEY, NJ — The Lacey woman accused of causing the death of her 2-year-old son will remain detained pending her trial, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Natalie Sabie, 34, will stay in Ocean County Jail until trial for her aggravated manslaughter charge in connection with the "acute fentanyl intoxication" death of her son, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. She has been in Ocean County Jail since Oct. 14.

Sabie is also charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of fentanyl, Billhimer said.

An investigation found that Sabie was responsible for her son, who access had illegal narcotics while in her care, when he was found unconscious and died on Sept. 7, Billhimer said.
