Motorcyclist Killed In Route 9 Crash: Lacey Police

A Forked River woman was turning left into Sunset Plaza when her car struck Michael McCabe, 49, of Bayville, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Route 9 Monday evening, Lacey police said.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Jan. 30, Lacey police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Route 9 just north of the Sunrise Boulevard intersection, police said.

A 55-year-old Forked River woman was heading south on Route 9 and turned left into Sunset Plaza when her vehicle struck Michael McCabe, 49, of Bayville, who was heading north on Route 9 according to preliminary investigation.

Lacey Township EMS and RWJ Paramedics responded to the scene. McCabe died from injuries sustained in the collision, police said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department CSI Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
