Oil Drums, Cement Buckets Dumped On Dirt Road In Waretown: Police

Waretown police are seeking the culprit responsible for several dumping incidents on a dirt road near Wells Mills Park.

WARETOWN, NJ — The Ocean Township Police Department is investigating several recent dumping incidents on a dirt road near Wells Mills County Park.

On Nov. 21, old patio blocks, concrete blocks and 5 gallon buckets containing cement and a metal pole were found dumped on Switch Road, a dirt road on the north side of Route 532 (Wells Mills Road) just east of Wells Mills Park, police said.

Then, on Dec. 12 two black metal 55 gallon drums containing old used diesel oil filters and a wooden pallet were discovered at the same spot, police said.

A large amount of oil leaked out of the drums onto the ground and into a big puddle surrounding the area, police said. It was cleaned up by the Berkeley Township Hazmat Unit and Ocean County Parks Department.

There were several incidents of dumping at this location, according to the Ocean County Parks Department.
