Woman Killed In Head-On Route 9 Crash In Lacey: Police

The 80-year-old Barnegat woman was killed when her car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a truck, Lacey police said.

LACEY, NJ — An 80-year-old Barnegat woman was killed in a car crash on Oct. 10, Lacey police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, the woman, not identified by police, was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata north on Route 9 near Beach Boulevard when her car crossed over the center line into the southbound lane, police said. According to police, it is unknown why the car crossed over.

Her Sonata collided head-on with a 2016 Hino Model 268 truck, driving south on Route 9 by 20-year-old Colin Jamison of Upper Freehold, police said.

The woman was transported to Community Medical Center where she later died of her injuries, police said.

Jamison suffered minor injuries and was also treated at Community Medical Center, police said.
