LIVINGSTON, NJ — People across the U.S., including Livingston, will be reaching for their clocks this weekend when “daylight savings” kicks in.

WHEN DOES IT START/END? This year, daylight saving time will begin at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 14. It ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7.

WHAT DO I DO? Set your clocks ahead by one hour (“spring forward”) before going to bed Saturday night. Many devices will do this automatically.

WHY AM I DOING THIS? The basic point of daylight saving time is to make better use of natural daylight. However, some people have questioned the practice, which isn’t observed in all U.S. states.
