The silver lining? This rain is much-needed, as much of the state is "abnormally dry" and some areas even reaching "moderate drought" level, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 71. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 87. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Calm wind.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.
