Join Director of Jewish Learning Melissa Weiner and the clergy of Temple B’nai Abraham for Drip Drop Tu B'Shevat Shabbat, an interactive exploration of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees ( Jewish Arbor Day) on Friday, January 22, 5:30 PM, via Zoom! This holiday shabbat celebration is recommended for families with children aged 4 years through third grade. In modern Israel, Tu B’Shevat has become a national holiday, a tree-planting festival for Israelis and Jews throughout the world. It is customary to eat a great amount of fruit on Tu’ B’Shevat particularly fruits that are grown in Israel including bokser (carob pods), oranges, avocados, banana, kiwi, dried plums , melons and dried apricots. The seven spices of Israel: wheat, barley, grape, fig, pomegranates, olive (oil), and date (honey).
