LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Livingston-based hospital was ranked within the 10 best-performing hospitals in New Jersey in a list released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

The publication also includes searchable lists of top regional hospitals and hospital rankings based on specialty care.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals in 15 specialties and 19 procedures and conditions, adding rankings for ovarian cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and uterine cancer surgery to its 2022 list.

The 2022-23 rankings also took into account several health equity measures for the first time, noting hospitals that provide more care to low-income patients and those which have racial disparities in medical and surgical outcomes.

Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Livingston came in at number 6 on the list, in a seven-way tie with several others.

The hospital officially changed its name late last year to Cooperman Barnabas (READ MORE: Call Us Cooperman).

  • No. 5: Overlook Medical Center, Summit
  • No. 6 (tie): AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City
  • No. 6 (tie): Cooper University Health Care, Camden
  • No. 6 (tie): Englewood Health, Englewood
  • No. 6 (tie): Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune
  • No. 6 (tie): Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston
  • No. 6 (tie): Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro
  • No. 6 (tie): Virtua Voorhees, Voorhees
  • No. 13 (tie): Ocean University Medical Center, Brick
