Livingston July 4th Weekend Weather Forecast: Will Rain, Storms Dampen Local Fireworks?

Livingston, NJ – With a little luck, the lousy weather will hit before the 4th of July festivities in Essex County for 2016, according to forecasters.
As of late Thursday, the National Weather Service was predicting possible showers and thunderstorms on Friday ahead of an approaching cold front in the area.
“A few of these storms could be severe,” the NWS stated. “The main threat appears to be damaging wind gusts.”

The NWS prediction comes as 4th of July celebrations and fireworks shows are slated to kick off for the holiday weekend in Essex County.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
